Looking for:
So, who am I looking for? Not your average knight in shining armor. I don't need someone to rescue me; I can handle a rogue band-aid or two myself. But a partner in crime? Now that's an adventure I'm interested in. ️♀️️♂️ Here's the lowdown on my ideal partner: Can make me laugh until my sides hurt (bonus points for puns, because I'm the queen of them). Is comfortable in his own skin, weirdness and all. We all have baggage, let's just unpack it together. Has a healthy dose of wanderlust. Whether it's exploring a new city or just trying that weird new restaurant across town, I'm down for anything. ️ Appreciates sarcasm (because if you can't handle me at my most sarcastic, you don't deserve me at my best). Is kind, compassionate, and has a heart of gold. Because let's face it, looks fade, but a good soul is forever.
About me:
Orysia here, but my friends call me Oksa because apparently, Orysia sounds too sophisticated for someone who can down a shot of horilka like it's water (don't worry, I won't subject you to that on the first date... unless?). 🩺 By day, I'm a Florence Nightingale in scrubs, wielding a stethoscope instead of a lamp. I spend my days stitching up egos (along with the occasional wound), dispensing laughter alongside medication, and reminding grumpy grandpas that they're not that old (even if they act like it sometimes). But when I take off the white coat, I'm a whirlwind of contradictions. I can be sipping tea with Jane Austen in the morning and moshing at a Rammstein concert by night. I'm a bookworm who secretly loves trashy reality TV (don't judge!). I can quote Shakespeare and then quote Borat in the same breath (without irony, I might add). Basically, I'm never boring, and I promise our dates won't be either.
Qualities that I appreciate in people the most:
Honesty, kindness, and a good sense of humor. If you can make me laugh until my stomach hurts, we're off to a good start! I also appreciate a person who can listen as well as they can talk—good conversation is a two-way street.
My goals for the future:
To continue growing in my nursing career, maybe even specialize one day. Also, to find someone special to share life's adventures with, whether it’s a spontaneous road trip, a lazy Sunday brunch, or building a pillow fort just because we can.
My travel destinations (past or future):
I've always dreamed of visiting Italy for its art and food (especially the gelato!). I’d love to see the Northern Lights in Iceland and go on a safari in Africa. Past travels include volunteering in rural clinics, where I got to blend my love for helping others with my wanderlust.
I spend a lot of time thinking about (or my dream is):
I often find myself daydreaming about living in a little cottage by the sea, with a garden full of flowers and a cat (or three) lounging in the sun. But when I'm not daydreaming, I think about how I can make a difference in the world, even if it's just one smile at a time.
My favorite movies, books, music, shows:
Movies: Anything that makes me laugh or cry. Think "Amélie" or "The Princess Bride." Books: I love a good mystery or historical fiction. Agatha Christie and Ken Follett are my go-tos. Music: My playlist is a mix of everything from classical to pop to jazz. Shows: I’m a sucker for medical dramas (shocking, right?) and crime thrillers. Also, I have a secret love for cheesy rom-coms.
My favorite food:
Anything Italian—pizza, pasta, you name it! I also have a serious weakness for dark chocolate and fresh strawberries. Oh, and brunch. Brunch is a must.
Pets in my life:
I’ve had a few pets over the years—a golden retriever named Max, a cat named Whiskers, and a turtle that somehow always managed to escape his tank. Currently, I’m pet-free, but I’m always up for a cuddle with a furry friend.
My hobbies and what I'm good at:
I love hiking, baking (and eating what I bake), reading, and trying out new dance moves—even if it means tripping over my own feet. I’m good at making people feel comfortable, finding the silver lining, and can always find the best spot to watch the sunset.
Talking about sports:
I enjoy a good game of tennis or volleyball, but I'm more of a spectator when it comes to sports. I’ll cheer enthusiastically from the sidelines, snacks in hand. Oh, and I run…to the fridge during commercials. Does that count?
The five things I can't live without:
My stethoscope (occupational hazard). A good book. Coffee—preferably strong and endless. Laughter—it’s the best medicine, after all. My sense of adventure.
You should message me if:
You enjoy witty banter, spontaneous road trips, and are not afraid to dance in the kitchen. Also, if you’re kind-hearted, love animals, and think you can make the best pancakes ever. Challenge accepted?
Job:
